Your experience working with chickens, goats, and/or rabbits can be a great way to share your faith in Africa.

What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

This is a customizable trip that is great for the individual or a group up to 4 people. Immerse yourself in the African culture by staying with a local church family.

Your knowledge and experience with working with chickens, goats, and/or rabbits can enhance the production of these animals among the poor in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. You will be working through the local church by assisting their programs for orphans and widows, as well as others in the congregation.

Creative thinking and flexibility will be needed as you share how to maximize animal production and provide care within the conditions available.

"Pay It Forward" — Those you help will donate the first-born female or part of their first chicks to a needy family.

This is a great way to share your faith and God's love in a tangible way!

While you are in Africa, you may want to extend your trip a couple of days and take advantage of the many safari opportunities

Through such projects, LEAMIS promotes transformational development by empowering local pastors and believers with the tools and resources they need to impact their communities for Christ. The goal is to multiply the impact by empowering local persons to share what they know with others rather than depending on outside help.

Transformation addresses the spiritual need of recovering our true identity as humans created in the image of God and restoring relationships with God, ourselves, our community and the environment.

Development speaks to discovering our true vocation as productive stewards, faithfully caring for the world and all the people in it. As such, we seek to assist others in developing self-sustaining means to achieve this.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

We have been working with the Kenyan church for several years in their outreach ministries to Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Our efforts include leadership development for pastors and church leaders, installing water purification systems, and cottage industry development.

Cottage industries can be developed by the local church as a means of meeting the needs of the congregation and as a way of providing an outreach ministry as the local church teaches workshops in other communities.
