What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

We organize a summer basketball league for college-level players.

Requirements:
*Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident. College players should have a minimum level of 1 year of experience at the NAIA div 2 or the NCAA div 2 levels. Opportunity available mid-July to mid-August.

Responsibilities:
Play hard, play smart and learn to play with Europeans. The league runs for 6 nights during the last 2 weeks of July. Build friendships with teammates that can be deepened over the years by inviting them to visit you in the US or correspond via internet. Semi-pro coaches also come to scout players for their rosters. Perhaps you might be able to extend your stay by playing on a local team. College players also help coach at the day camp for ages 10-17.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

Although the doors are opening, building relationships with Belgian nonbelievers is still a challenge. It requires time and patience to see those who are mostly indifferent to the gospel take small steps toward faith. Club and camp activities for youth, sports ministries and education are continuing directions for evangelism and outreach.

Training debriefing
All interns will be assigned a pre-field mentor who will help coach them through the pre, on, and post-field journey. This typically involves connecting by phone or Skype every few weeks to walk through basic pre-field ministry topics like raising support, safety, ministering cross-culturally ,etc. as well as providing prayer support and guidance through logistics. The intern's mentor will also setup a time to debrief and follow-up after their internship.

Mission Trip Offered By WorldVenture

Billions of people don’t know Jesus. We’re not okay with that.

More than words, they are a reminder on the wall of our main office of why we do what we do. Since 1943, God has used thousands of WorldVenture workers and partners to impact millions with the good news.
We plant churches, build clinics, educate children, train leaders, provide disaster relief, combat injustice, foster the arts, and serve the poor with economic development…in Jesus name and to make disciples.
We recruit, train, and send disciples of Jesus throughout the world who sense Gods call to give their lives to share the gospel with people who have yet to hear it. And we partner with multitudes of Christ-following disciples in engaging the world for gospel impact.
