Work with disadvantaged children, serve the Homeless, and work as credentialed volunteers with the amazing Alaska Iditarod Sled Dog Race. Well organized, comfortable housing, and great food. We have been doing this for 15 years! Great for individuals, student groups, men's groups, church groups, Father/Son or Daughter, Mother Son or Daughter. Also, most years we are able to actually take you dog mushing! Brian in this picture wrote this year, "We can't express in words how amazing this is!"

What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

Father & Daughter GraceWorks Iditarod Mission Vols.JPG

Join us here in Alaska next March to get closer to God, meet new friends, serve God by serving others, and have a great time!

You are going to hit the ground running when you get here. Friday, we'll get you trained and also take you on a spectacular snow hike. Saturday, we'll drive to Willow, Alaska, site of the Iditarod re-start on Sunday, and set up the race start on a frozen lake. Sunday, we'll be helping put the race on — setting every thing up, overseeing parking cars, working race security, serving as dog handlers, and tearing down and cleaning up after the race. As you rub shoulders with race volunteers, mushers, and musher friends/familes, it is a great time to share your Faith.

Afterwards, we'll return to Anchorage and begin to go to work doing other things such as volunteering at Anchorage Food Bank for the Hungry, working with kids at the local Boys and Girls Clubs, shoveling snow for the elderly, building projects, serving in Homeless shelters, and working with children/youth in local parks after school.

We are going to work hard, but we will also have time to play. For fun, there will be opportunities for snow-hiking in the forest, moose-viewing, awesome sledding, shopping, and checking out the Northern Lights. You might even get a chance to mush (drive) a dog team!

Mission Trip Offered By GraceWorks/ Global Partnership Ministries

Global Partnership Ministries started 24 years ago to help respond to the newly opening doors in Eastern Europe. Over that time, we have taken almost 3,000 people overseas on mission for Christ. Nine years ago we moved to Alaska. Since then, we have hosted several thousand volunteer missionaries here in Alaska.

In Alaska, we are known as “GRACEWORKS”

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word; that people are lost without Christ; and that it is our responsibility to get the Message to people. The Great Commission is not just that people ought to go to church. It is for the Church to go to people! We have also found that we usually have to serve people and demonstrate love before they are ready to listen to what we have to say. They don’t care what we know until they know that we care.

Our primary fields of focus are Alaska and Romania. Each year we help facilitate hundreds of volunteers serving all over Alaska which is almost three times the size of Texas! Our strategy is to use volunteer teams to help reach people and start small groups to disciple those we reach. We are especially pleased that 16 small groups involving 60 people started as a result of our “GraceWorks” ministry volunteers this past summer. Most of these groups are continuing led by local church leaders, our staff and local missionaries!

Why Alaska? Most people think of Alaska only as a tourist destination. God certainly worked overtime making it one of the most spectacularly beautiful places on the earth. However, it is also spiritually dark. The Pew Research Center recently released a study that found Alaska to have the lowest church attendance in the United States. WE NEED HELP!
