What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Goals of this Project:
- Provide volunteer labor to support local famers growing crops to support their families
- Teach economic and trading skills to women in the community – and thus empowering them
- Contribute to food security in this impoverished nation
- Expose volunteers and children to different people and cultures
How You Can Help
This is a farming program with an extremely important community development element to it, and one that is essential to the community in which it operates and the families it helps to support. Volunteers on this program can expect to help in every aspect of this agricultural activities from assisting with tending the land, harvesting crops, selling crops at local markets, and in assisting with educating the farmers involved in the project on sustainable agricultural techniques. Volunteers may also be called upon to teach English to the participants in order to improve their future livelihoods.This program is ideal for volunteers who like physical work, that are enthusiastic and don’t mind getting their hands dirty, that like working in teams, and people who love to interact closely with others. Participants must be physically fit and enjoying being outdoors, with work hours varied and dependent on the task at hand.
Volunteers will contribute in a number of ways and can expect to undertake the following tasks:
- Working on the land – tending to and harvesting crops
- Selling crops at local markets
- Educating participants on sustainable farming practices
- Teaching English language skills
Requirements: 18yo+
Mission Trips Uganda welcomes all those 18 years and over who wish to help create a brighter future for people living in marginalized communities of Uganda. While this project is best suited to those pursuing a career in the fields of anthropology, social entrepreneurship and/or economics, or those with a background in farming and agriculture, volunteers who simply wish to be involved in a more ‘varied’ project are also welcomed as there are many ways you can assist and individual projects can often be tailored to suit the particular skills and interests or each participant. Importantly, all applicants must first and foremost have a genuine willingness to help, show drive and initiative, and bring a positive 'can-do' attitude. If this sounds like you, we want you on the team!
Additionally, volunteers applying to join this program will be required to supply to following documentation:

WHAT THE MISSION TRIP WILL BE LIKE:
At Mission Trips Uganda, we try to make the cost of our trips as reasonable as possible. If this trip is Gods will then He will provide you with the necessary funding.
Administration Fee – $250; This is due to the Uganda office two weeks after your application is accepted and approved.
In addition to the administration fee, there is a mission fee payable to Mission Trips Uganda based on the length of time you plan to serve:

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
Our Short-term mission volunteers work alongside the Ugandan staff and Ugandan local communities during all the outreaches . We carry out our Mission programs week to week and we partner with the local churches, local organizations and communities to better serve the Ugandan people. The Ideas shared by short-term volunteers are usually implemented into the long term activities of the projects
Additional Trip Information
Individual Short-term Mission Trips:
Short-term missions trips range from 1 weeks to 5 months. Volunteers are welcome to come as individuals and join our weekly outreach programs and work in the village with community who need help constructing anything from a hut, to a village kitchen, livestock shelters, etc. There are many elderly grandparents looking after young children who need help fixing their hut, we identify these families in need.

Mission fees are due to the Uganda office at least 35 days prior to arrival in Africa.
Please note the if your stay is a few days after a week long interval, but doesnt make a full extra week of stay the fee is $75 per day. For example, if you sign up for a 2 week trip and your scheduled arrival and departure in country is actually 2 weeks and 2 days the additional fee would be $150 for the 2 additional days.

Mission Trips Uganda is non-profit organization based in Uganda, East-Africa that focuses on children and families living in extreme poverty in by re-building communities and empowering today’s Children and youth. Mission Trips Uganda rescues vulnerable children and places them in loving families. Our goal is not only to meet their physical needs, but to give them everything they need to become healthy and whole, and live a life of purpose. We focus on providing food, clothing, medical care, education and a safe place they can call home. We give children support and the holistic care in their families that every person needs to thrive.
TRAVEL WITH MISSION TRIPS UGANDA
For those who are able to come for at least 1 week, 2 weeks, a month or more, you can apply as an individual volunteer to help to reach out the children, the youth and the local communities in Uganda.
For those with building skills, farming, mechanical and other practical skills, you are welcome to pitch in on various sustainability projects. Artists, musicians, film-makers, photographers, social media gurus, we need all the help we can get not only to spread the word about our work in Uganda, but also to help shape the raw talent of our children and the young people in Uganda.
