What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Bring your group on the ultimate urban mission trip! Spread the Word of God and the love of Jesus on a week-long or weekend trip with eternal significance. Experience new cultures within the USA, work with the homeless and those in need, discover your ability to serve others outside your comfort zone, discover God’s call for your life, and have life-changing impact within local communities.
For over a decade Christ For the City International has been sending people into the inner-city to transform lives and cities for the Glory of God. The Urban Plunge program sends over 1,500 youth every year into 7 different cities within the United States: Chicago, Dallas, Omaha, Los Angeles, Sioux Falls, Des Moines, and Kansas City. We also offer a multicultural Plunge in Los Angeles.
We arrange all the details, partnering each group with 2-3 different ministries on each day of your trip, which allows students to discover how God is calling them. In addition to planning the schedule, we also take care of the food and accommodations for your trip at a very affordable price. Each Urban Plunge team is accompanied by a trained facilitator, who will encourage and debrief your youth in how to live lives of purpose, challenge, and incredible fulfillment for the Lord.
CUSTOMIZABLE: You tell us the dates that work for you. You tell us how many days you would like to serve! You know your group, so we put you in the driver's seat!
Here are some possible ministries you could serve at during your Urban Plunge:
AVENUE OF LIFE
Avenue of Life is a community development organization that assists low income families and individuals through services such as emergency food and housing relief, housing repairs, community cleanups, book-mobile, BackSnack program, non-profit renovations, transportation assistance, job and employment training, career development and more.
As a part of this project, your group will have the opportunity to come alongside Avenue of Life and practically assist the Kansas City community.
BEAUTY FROM ASHES MINISTRY
Beauty For Ashes works with women in prison by providing biblically based, Christ-centered programs for prisoners and ex-offenders. The aim of this ministry is to prevent women from falling back into past patterns and to prepare offenders for re-entry into society by focusing on the healing of past wounds, discipleship through the study of the Bible, mentoring, life skills, community support, and home plans.
As a part of this project, your group will have the opportunity to hear about the amazing work of this ministry.

The Urban Plunge brings teams to work with various well-established local ministries whose vision is to serve the inner-city. Teams will partner with these ministries during the trip and have the opportunity to continue their involvement on a long-term basis through prayer or volunteering.

Christ For the City International (CFCI) is an international missions organization committed to serving others in the name of Christ. We have been shaped by the Biblical mandate to reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since 1995, CFCI has been an innovative leader in modern mission circles and has become a respected urban ministry and mission agency.
It is our aim to encourage and strengthen local churches around the world. We do this by engaging and mentoring the Body of Christ to develop ministries and programs to bring hope to the city. We help local churches and ministries present people with the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and mobilize them into ministry. We have more than 500 mission workers in 15 countries serving through more than 130 different ministries!
