What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Our teams to Puerto Rico will be helping repair and reconstruct homes affected by hurricanes near the town of Maunabo, which has a population of about 15,000 people. Maunabo is surrounded by beautiful beaches of blue and green water on one side, and high mountains on the other that keep it secluded from the rest of the island.
Our volunteers will stay near the beach at the Hotel Parador Maunacaribe and work in a rural community on its outskirts called Calzada, which has 184 families, plus another 96 families in the surrounding area.
We will be investing in long-term health of the community by making repairs to existing homes so they can last longer and provide more security for families in Calzada.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
The Fuller Center in Puerto Rico is operated and led by locals who are very dedicated to making a difference in their area. By having local leadership, this allows us to have a long-term impact and vision for the community. This also allows us to build strong relationships with the families which is a very important part of our ministry.
Additional Trip Information
Mission Trip Offered By The Fuller Center for Housing
The Fuller Center for Housing is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty housing worldwide. By forming partnerships with local organizations, The Fuller Center provides the structure, guidance and support that communities need to build and repair homes for the impoverished among them.
We operate through local Covenant Partner organizations, which are volunteer led and driven. Visiting Global Builders teams will have the opportunity to assist one of our local Fuller Centers — called Covenant Partners — build or renovate a home for a family in need in their community.
