The Café, based in a poor social housing area of the town called Hauteville. For those that have a heart to reach and serve the poor and vulnerable, it provides a place to meet, chat, share testimony, pray with those who ask, encourage and show love to the needy and the lonely. There are a number of nationalities and migrants as well as white French that frequent the café. We run a kids club, English homework, computing help, creative club, and are always looking for ways to engage with the community depending on the gifts, abilities and ideas of those who come to serve. The café is run by a team of volunteers from local churches and from the quartier itself. A minority of the volunteers are not believers. Working with them closely gives opportunity to witness and show Jesus by our actions. Church “L’église La Source”: is part of a network of 6 small church plants and house churches. Volunteers do not just help out at La Source but have the opportunity to visit and help out in the other churches of the network. Besides some practical help, we try to integrate volunteers into various services/ministry teams of the church depending on their giftings. There are also various activities throughout the year, such as film debate nights, fete-de-la Musique etc.

Qualities & Gifts Sought:

French language fluency or willingness to learn is necessary. Passion for and experience in evangelism and/or church planting desirable.
