What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
In Zuni Pueblo, traditional religion is still practiced, and ceremonies remain an integral part of life. Although the people have a rich cultural heritage, the Pueblo struggle to live as a healthy community. Alcoholism, diabetes, broken families, and limited economic opportunity plague the people. A growing number of Zuni Christians are convinced the Gospel message provides answers and offers life-giving hope.
Although pueblo leaders are opposed to the spread of Christianity among their people, our ministry partners reach out to the community by leading a teen youth group once a week, offering an opportunity for visiting teams to connect with local teens.
Ministry
Work Service Projects: The spring and fall missions designed to support Broken Arrow summer camps will be largely work/service oriented, although you’ll get time with Native young people. Expect anything from trail clearing to construction. The final work plan will be developed 6-8 weeks ahead of arrival, based on team skills and talents and camp project needs.
Community Outreach: Mission participants may meet people from nearby Navajo and Mescalero Apache communities, the Hispanic communities in Gallup, and the Zuni Pueblo. Or students from many Native communities at the Ft. Wingate School evening outreach.
Ford Canyon Park: has proven time and again to be a fertile evangelistic ground. And it’s also a place where an impromptu VBS could spring up. Just bring a few games for young kids 6-10 yrs. and be prepared to share the Gospel in story form. Just remember the attention span of your audience-the stories must be short. And allow break times in smaller groups for the kids to ask questions.
Family Relationships: One of the most significant, effective ministries available is often overlooked by visiting teams—encouraging and pouring love into the staff of Broken Arrow. Several families live year-round at the ranch or nearby. While their Christian community is no doubt very supportive, we can remind these missionaries that they are not alone. People do see their sacrifice, and appreciate them and the way the Lord is using them. We will rely on you to brainstorm (in advance) events and/or activities that will remind the staff that our Father sees them and loves them.
Camp support: for one of the eight, summer weeks when the campers, Native kids from all around the region, gather to enjoy this amazing place and hear their life-giving message! Please inquire!

Mission Trip Offered By Adventures in Missions
You want to follow Jesus’s example in the way He cared for the lost and the hurting. You want to take up Jesus’s commission to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and be His witness to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).
Adventures in Missions is an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship. We emphasize prayer and relationships in our work around the world. We seek to disciple as Jesus did; our vision is that God would use us to raise up a generation of radically committed disciples of Jesus Christ.
Since we were established in 1989, we have taken over 115,000 people into the mission field, some for as short as a week and others for as long as a year or longer. We minister year-round through our ministry bases and strategic ministry partnerships. We believe that by giving people the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones and join what God is doing in other cultures and nations, lives are transformed.
