What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
WHO WE ARE
We have provided opportunities for people to serve on trips to Uganda, Africa, for over 15 years, and we love it! We now have a 40+ acre missions base, hosting hundreds of people yearly for short-term missions and internship opportunities. Our Ugandan staff team consistently serves in surrounding villages and joyfully leads individuals/teams throughout the year!
Our mission in everything we do is to mobilize, inspire, and empower people to live on purpose while reaching out in love. We believe that God created everyone with a special purpose and plan. Our goal is to see that purpose discovered, nurtured, and fulfilled. We’ve seen individual’s passions ignited and dreams awakened after they’ve said “yes” to serve with us.

When your schedule permits
SKILLS
Come with a willing heart to learn and to serve. If a specific outreach requires a specific skill, our Ugandan staff will help equip you.
WHAT WE WILL DO
You will have the opportunity to join a variety of ministry outreaches during the week. Some outreaches may include:
- Home visits to children and families in our sponsorship program
- Elderly visits (loving on them with quality time and service around their home/land)
- Community service projects to homes in the villages (helping families clean around the home, small building projects, handing out mosquito nets)
- Agriculture outreaches (join community training in Farming God’s Way practices and participate in planting/digging)
- Visit local markets, prisons, and churches to share the gospel and pray over people.
- Lead fun games and bible lessons at primary schools, our weekly Hot Lunch program, and our weekly Suubi Clubs.
- Connect with the youth by teaching high school bible studies, life skills, and our weekly “Ignite” youth program.
- Potentially lead VBS and youth events at the Dream Center (our youth center)
- Help tutor small groups of children during our Bridge tutoring program
- Support medical staff and pray over patients at our medical clinic and birthing center
- Join the team for medical outreaches in the surrounding villages
- Be a part of a clean water well commissioning

Through short and long-term mission opportunities, teams have the opportunity to demonstrate love to the orphaned, abused and abandoned children Show Mercy cares for in Uganda. Show Mercy works on the ground providing direct assistance that helps children, families, and communities in Uganda, Africa reach their full potential in life. We help them believe that with God ALL things are POSSIBLE! You will not be going through an outside missions organization but working directly with Show Mercy International saving you a lot of money on a quality missions trip.
