Empower, Engage, Enlighten: Camp Conquest invites you to be part of a transformative experience, not just for our campers living with disabilities, but for you as well. Sign up as a volunteer and be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ! Camp Conquest is a Christian overnight camp that encourages individuals affected by disability to try things they never imagined possible. As they conquer activities like gliding down a zipline, canoeing, or horseback riding, campers build confidence that will shape the rest of their lives. Volunteers are typically paired 1:1 with a camper for the whole week. This role involves pouring out love and fun to help your camper have the greatest camp experience and to grow in their faith.

What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

G2.jpg

There’s more to camp than just having fun.

We want to change lives by showing God’s love and providing challenging opportunities to overcome so campers and volunteers leave feeling more confident. Camp Conquest serves campers (ages 8+) affected by disabilities. Camp would not be possible without the love and support of our volunteer missionaries and staff. We provide all the training you will need before campers arrive to help make it the best week ever. We strive to maintain a 1:1 ratio for campers, so every cabin will include 4 campers, 4 counselors, and 2 trained cabin leaders. With full medical, physical, and emotional support from healthcare professionals, trained staff, and dedicated missionaries, campers live in the moment and enjoy a place designed just for them. Volunteers and staff live and model their faith throughout the camp experience with their cabin buddies.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

For many of our campers, they do not have the opportunity to attend church. For some, coming to Camp Conquest is the first time they’ve heard the gospel. We provide an avenue for both our campers and our missionaries that have not heard the gospel to hear it in an applicable way and surrounded by people that love them and show the love of Christ through their actions.

Serving at Camp Conquest provides you with the opportunity to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus. Luke 14 commands us to invite those living with disabilities into our lives and to love them the way Christ would. Camp Conquest is a special place because we treat each of our campers, volunteers, and staff not only as family but as though they have a place where they belong. Our hope is to provide those living with disabilities with a sense of self – worth, independence, and value, to help them feel seen and loved.

Please join us as we share the gospel with our friends and provide them with an adventurous summer camp experience that will encourage them to try new things, conquer challenges, and grow in their own confidence.

Training debriefing
Volunteers arrive on Sunday afternoon for training before camper arrival on Monday at 5:00 pm. Each camp session ends on Saturday at 10:30 am. You will be fully trained before campers arrive, including proper eating, dressing, and wheelchair transfer for campers in wheelchairs. Our medical team will review the campers and their diagnosis for each week and will provide training on each diagnosis and how to care for your camper. You will also have the support of the cabin staff, leadership, and medical team day and night during the week at camp. After breakfast on Monday morning, cabin leaders take their groups back to their cabin to pray and review the 4 camper applications within their group. After reviewing the camper applications, the volunteers get to pick their camper for the week. We finish training around 12 noon on Monday. After lunch all volunteers and staff will have the next 2 hours off before camper arrival.
