What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

ghana-slide5.jpg

Samaritan’s Feet believes that a new pair of shoes can provide a tangible foundation of hope and the opportunity for a better life, prompt children to focus in school and families not to worry, and protect feet to decrease the possibility of getting a foot-borne disease.

What diseases can occur from this problem? Soil-Transmitted Helminths are intestinal worms (Acaris, whipworm, and hookworm) which can be transmitted when people walk barefoot on contaminated soil. Symptoms of Soil-Transmitted Helminths include abdominal pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, and anemia. It can also impact the physical and cognitive growth of children.

Why is this important? When kids in school don’t have proper or well-fitting shoes, they can be looked down upon by their peers and be uncomfortable and unconfident in the classroom. Additionally, lack of proper footwear can have a negative impact on a senior’s health and well-being, the ability to live independently, community involvement, and economic stability.

When you join our trips you can expect a life changing. We will handle all the logistical details and make the process super easy for you! As you consider joining us on one of our transformative mission trips, rest assured that we go above and beyond to ensure a secure and supportive environment for all participants. We have experienced, knowledgeable team leaders, collaborate with trusted local ministry partners, communicate clearly, and constantly monitor international issues and news.

For our Excursion the team will do the Assin Manso Slave River boat tour! Participants for this trip must be 15. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guardian.
