1. What are some ministry tasks that you want the intern to accomplish while serving with you?

This will depend on the skills and talents of the interns, but some ways that interns can bless the people that I serve here would be to:

  • teach basic English in VBS classes to reach people for Christ
  • participate in our children’s club and youth camps, leading games and other interactive activities
  • bring creative ideas, and materials when possible, to do arts and crafts with the kids
  • teach musical instruments and participate in worship

2. What would a typical day look like?
Each day will vary but an example from a weekday could be: have breakfast, travel to the church, serve
at the children’s club, have lunch, do a home visit, join for a prayer meeting with the church and then
return to the house at night for dinner and rest.

3. Please list specific skills an intern may expect to develop by the time the internship is
completed.

Growth in your ability to minister to and disciple children and youth, encourage people during home
visitations, and in your aptitude to teach English. You will improve as a Spanish speaker too!

4. What type of person will be successful in your ministry?
A person who is willing to work hard and be helpful. A person with a positive, fun-loving attitude who is
willing to help enthusiastically wherever they are needed.

5. Is there anything else we should know about serving with your ministry?
The community where I serve has children and youth, many of whom have experienced alcohol in the
home as well as trauma of various kinds, so God’s love is really needed here!

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

We seek to please Christ, the Builder and Head of the Church, by conducting our ministries closely with local churches for the advancement and building up of the Body of Christ with the view that all believers will grow in maturity becoming more and more like Christ with the hope that some become pastors, evangelists, teachers, and others cross-cultural missionaries (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 4:4-16)
