Your leadership team will have a time of orientation upon arrival at the Priority 1 ministry base, located in the Bronx, NY. Priority 1 staff is trained & can assist you in challenging your team with Biblical principles of leadership & have opportunities to put servant-leadership into practice while touching lives in NYC. This can be a very special bonding time for you & your team while expanding their vision for leadership & service.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

Leadership-Building teams can grow their vision for service, to follow Christ’s example of servant-leadership, during their weekend Encounter. They will have an opportunity to serve with an established inner-city ministry directly impacting the lives of the homeless as well as disadvantaged individuals & families within the NYC community. They may serve with a soup kitchen, homeless shelter, or the World Vision Storehouse, whichever has need during their Encounter, but it will be an on-going outreach to NYC that utilizes volunteers for practical hands-on experience in servant-leadership.

Cost is $250 per person for the weekend, Friday afternoon/evening through Sunday noon, & the actual Encounter dates can be customized to suit your team needs, including weekday Encounters. The Encounter can be expanded to include another day & night & trip cost will be prorated accordingly. Trip cost covers all housing, meals (except 1 during prayer walk/intentional sight-seeing), mentoring/training sessions, and ministry expenses while in NYC; does not include travel to and from NYC or personal items (souvenirs, etc). Leadership-Building Encounters will not be scheduled during July to allow full-week Urban Ministry teams to hold Kid's Clubs in parks.
Training debriefing
Priority 1 staff and professionals in ministry will serve as mentors and teachers as they walk with your team in training & ministry. There will be a time of orientation upon arrival and a time of Debrief prior to returning home.
