What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Join a team serving with Forward Edge in one of our long-term partner communities around the world. These aren’t just trips where you “go help”—they’re opportunities to listen, learn, build relationships, and experience the Gospel in new and powerful ways.
As you enter another culture with humility and curiosity, you’ll discover God at work in ways that may surprise you. You'll partner with local leaders already doing amazing work in their communities. Together, you’ll bring hope, healing, and tangible help to those impacted by poverty and injustice. But you’ll also receive something just as powerful in return.
Expect to:
- Build meaningful relationships across cultures
- Discover new dimensions of God's heart through the global Church
- Challenge your assumptions and uncover cultural blind spots
- Grow in your faith and develop deeper compassion
- Experience the gospel in fresh and unexpected ways
Our trips are grounded in listening, mutual respect, and long-term partnerships. You won’t arrive with all the answers—you’ll come alongside others as a learner, a servant, and a friend.
This experience is only the beginning. What God starts during your trip can continue to shape your values, your faith, and how you engage with the world around you—long after you return home.
Join a story bigger than yourself—and come home ready to live it out, wherever you are.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
Forward Edge partners with local Christian leaders in Kampala, Uganda through the Light a Candle program—bringing hope to children and families in under-resourced urban communities. Through nutritious meals, education, discipleship, and support for single mothers, the program shines the light of Christ into places marked by poverty and instability.
Teams come alongside these locally led efforts, encouraging and participating in the ongoing ministry already transforming lives. Forward Edge is committed to walking with leaders like Bonny Lugayizi for the long haul—raising up children who know they are loved by God and equipped to be a light in their families and communities.

Mission Trip Offered By Forward Edge International
Forward Edge is a Christ-centered, international non-profit partnering with local leaders to help children and families overcome poverty and thrive. Our mission is to transform the lives of children trapped in poverty through Christ-centered holistic care, meeting physical needs while nurturing spiritual, emotional, and educational growth.
We believe the Gospel must be both demonstrated and declared. That means showing God’s love through tangible acts of compassion and boldly sharing the hope of Jesus in word and deed. Neither is complete without the other.
In long-term partnerships with communities across eight countries, we support programs led by local visionaries who understand the strengths and challenges of their people. Together, we’re addressing root causes of poverty and building sustainable paths to transformation.
As a mission team member, you’ll step into this ongoing work, not as a hero, but as a learner and co-laborer. You might help with children’s programs, meal distribution, home repairs, or outreach events, but the heart of the experience is building relationships across cultures and being shaped by them.
Our trips are designed to be deeply relational and reflective. You’ll be equipped before, during, and after your trip to listen well, engage with humility, and discern how God is working both in the community and in you.
We believe mission is not just about what you do, it’s about who you become. When you encounter God through both the joy and the challenge of cross-cultural service, you return home with deeper compassion, renewed perspective, and a greater sense of purpose in God’s mission.
