What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

In this new year, Next Step Ministries has chosen to add a bit of adventure to the Kentucky trip. We want to challenge you physically, mentally, but most importantly, spiritually. You will be able to experience what few other trips of this magnitude can do, and that is allow you to experience God, the Master Artist and Craftsman in all of his creative glory and engage in great discussions that will stretch your understanding of God.
On a Next Step Adventure trip you will focus on what it means to be created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), and last but not least, you will realize that God has a plan for you, a plan that is nothing short of amazing! On an adventure trip with Next Step Ministries, you will gain a sense of awe that will give birth to a new perspective of how amazing and creative God was and is when he created the universe, but the adventure doesn’t stop there. It’s one thing to be in awe of God’s masterpiece but it’s what we do with that understanding, that becomes our mission.
THE MISSION IN
ELLIOTT COUNTY, KENTUCKY
Deep in the Appalachian range, in the small town of Sandy Hook in Elliott County, Kentucky, students can expect to connect with God’s creative design for their lives personally by actively engaging with our initial efforts to be part of bringing restoration to the land in this community.
At the Adullam Kentucky Project, students will have the opportunity observe how the land on which God created us to live has been brilliantly and lovingly created to provide all that is necessary for us to thrive. As part of this, they will get to be part of the creation of a spiritual center that will be used as a house of prayer. In bringing revival to misused and damaged land, we can more clearly understand the spiritual principles that God uses to bring revival to the hearts of people. Our hope is that the discovery of God’s incredible design of life will unfold through adventure and learning as a living model of people gather to glorify God through working together and sharing a reflection of God’s love to the world around us.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
This trip invites students to join the long-term, faith-centered restoration work already taking place in Elliott County, partnering with local leaders through the Adullam Kentucky Project. By helping restore misused land and contribute to the development of a spiritual center and house of prayer, teams support an ongoing ministry rooted in worship, discipleship, and renewal. This work reflects the heart of the national Church—coming alongside local communities to pursue spiritual and physical restoration together. As students labor alongside faithful partners, they witness how God brings revival not only to the land, but to people and communities through sustained prayer, stewardship, and shared mission.

The cost of a Next Step trip covers almost everything your group will need for a safe, impactful, and meaningful mission experience, including:

What Your Group is responsible for:
Transportation to site, as well as to and from the host facility and from the facility to worksites.
Optional expenses on free day activities, such as tours, rafting, or other local adventures.
With the majority of expenses included in the trip cost, your students can focus on serving, growing, and building lasting relationships without worrying about extra fees.
