What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
THE MISSION IN
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI
Settling in the 1800’s for its rivers, Kansas City has boomed into a wonderfully unique city. offering something for everyone with rich history, world class food, and a vibrant diverse community!
Like any community, Kansas City has had its share of historical struggles to overcome. There are many in the city who need physical assistance as they experience poverty, and homelessness. At Next Step, we have an amazing opportunity to join alongside local organizations and ministries to help meet these needs and share the love and hope that only Christ can bring.
In 2022 we began our partnership with this community. We are honored to be a part of neighborhood co-operations who act as a catalyst for community transformation. As some of our friends here say, “We believe this transformation will be evidenced in noticeable decreased crime, neighbor helping neighbor, a sense of morality and a renewed vibrancy in churches to engage the community with compassion, preach the gospel and disciple believers toward maturity in Christ.”
This is no longer just a hope – it is becoming reality.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals
This trip partners students with local churches and community ministries that are working year-round to bring hope and restoration to Kansas City. Since 2022, Next Step has come alongside neighborhood coalitions and faith-based organizations to support long-term community transformation rooted in compassion, gospel-centered service, and discipleship. Student teams serve as an extension of the local Church, strengthening ongoing efforts that are already bearing fruit across the city.
Additional Trip Information
The cost of a Next Step trip covers almost everything your group will need for a safe, impactful, and meaningful mission experience, including:
Meals & meal prep all food during your stay.
Lodging accommodations for your group.
Programming worship, teaching, and video content.
Trip staffing experienced leaders and support staff.
Project materials tools, supplies, and resources for service projects.
Partnerships & planned projects all coordination with local churches and organizations.
What Your Group is responsible for:
Transportation to site, as well as to and from the host facility and from the facility to worksites.
Optional expenses on free day activities, such as tours, restaurants, or other local adventures.
This mission site is bus and van accessible. The closest airport is MCI (Kansas City International) apx 37 min away.
With the majority of expenses included in the trip cost, your students can focus on serving, growing, and building lasting relationships without worrying about extra fees.

Since 2007 we have focused on helping thousands of youth take the next step in their faith through Christ centered, responsible, safe, impactful, and fun youth mission trips for middle and high school youth groups (other groups and families welcome!). It’s like summer camp with service projects and missions outreach. Join us in serving Christ and cultivating faith in our students through youth missions at one of our 12 locations in the U.S. and abroad.
