Inquire about the trip

In Trinidad, where vibrant culture meets deep spiritual need, our partners are planting churches and sharing the gospel in schools, streets, and prisons. Come serve with alongside them with us next summer to bring hope to children, students, and families longing to know Christ. We will be partnering with Pastor Ashoke Bachew at Trinidad and Tobago Urban Ministries. When Ashoke was 12 years old back in the 1960s, a group of short-term missionaries from the United States came to his Hindu village in Trinidad and shared the truth of Jesus Christ with him. He turned away from idol worship and gave his heart to Jesus. Since that time, he has been passionate about living for Jesus and sharing Him. Trinidad and Tobago Urban Ministries (TTUM) was born from that passion and his vision of seeing a church in every village in Trinidad and Tobago.

What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

_DSC2267_MissionGuide.JPG

The vision of our partners at Trinidad and Tobago Urban Ministries is to establish a church in every village across the island which fosters spiritual growth and community impact.

It is our joy to join them in their ministries of…

  • Reaching children and youth through hosting VBS and backyard bible clubs, and visiting schools.

  • Ministering to at risk youth.

  • Loving the forgotten in orphanages, prisons and nursing homes.

  • Presenting the Gospel to those on the streets who might never have heard of the name of Jesus.

You will stay at the Trinidad and Tobago Urban Ministries mission base in style housing (think bunk beds, shared bathrooms, separate male and female sections). There are also plenty of meeting spaces for both small and larger teams. The facilities ensure a safe and welcoming environment, allowing us to focus on ministry and connection.

Our team will fly into Piarco and will be picked up from the airport by our TTUM partners. Travel arrangements and in-country transportation will be handled by your GO trip leader or a GO staff member alongside our TTUM ministry partners.

Meals are a mix of local island cuisine as well as more internationally familiar dishes. We do our best to help you eat like a Trini, realizing that mission trips can stretch your pallet. We do try to accommodate allergies as well.

"When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you." – Luke 10:8

At Go InterNational, participant safety is our top priority. Our internal team and external consultants use a multi-layered risk management approach, including monitoring global reports and collaborating with ministry partners on the ground. We enforce safety protocols, such as requiring students to be with an adult, while our hosts provide location-specific guidelines. Our team leaders have been trained in risk management principles and have both on-field and home-office support to ensure a secure experience.

Requirements are…

  • Good health

  • Willingness to serve

  • Abide by the cultural expectations of hosts

  • Passport expiration date CANNOT be prior to November 16, 2027

  • No tobacco, alcohol, illegal drugs, or profanity

  • Must meet all deadlines including all documentation and financial obligations

  • Must complete a background check. An email will be sent to you after you complete your background check from our secure service, CheckR, asking for further information

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

Trinidad and Tobago is a diverse Caribbean nation known for its rich culture, warm hospitality, and vibrant traditions. Trinbagonians come from African, East Indian, European, and Indigenous backgrounds, reflected in their music, food, and religious traditions.

The nation’s religious diversity—including Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and African spiritual traditions—often brings spiritual darkness and nominalism. Many people blend Christian beliefs with superstition, ancestor worship, or occult practices.

People are affected homelessness, drugs and a growing materialism. There is a need for genuine discipleship, biblical teaching, and the transformative power of the Gospel to penetrate hearts and change lives.

Training debriefing
What to expect when you go with GO Before every trip we have 3 team meetings, prepping and training our team before we go. Each team member receives a handbook in the mail, and a kit containing T-shirt, luggage tags, a journal and important trip information including team roster and flight information. Before the flight we will go through an orientation checklist and pray together as a team. Every day of the trip there will be daily checklist and check-ins. During the trip we end the days with debrief sessions. We encourage team members to use the journals from the kit to reflect on their trip and add any comments during the debrief time. Before returning home there will be a closing checklist, including how to deal with return-culture shock, a time of prayer and closing devotional. On return, team members will receive their trip photo, a thank you card, and continued support and encouraged relationship with GO InterNational.
