What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

Overview: Missionary kids serve alongside their families through sacrifice, cross-cultural living, and distance from family and friends. Come join our team and minister to these amazing kids during our annual two-week camp and help refresh them spiritually for their life on the field.
Mission Statement for the RRC Expat Camp: To provide a quality and Gospel-based time of games, refreshment, friendship, and excitement for missionary and expat children living in the Philippines.
Length: Two Weeks
1. What are some ministry tasks that you want a team to accomplish while serving with you? If you have various styles of trips, please feel free to describe them here.
Those serving with us are expected to participate in the camp activities in roles such as cabin leaders, program team, dance and drama numbers, games, and mentorship. We also accept some older participants to assist purely with crafts and cabin monitoring during the times that youth and young adults have meetings for games and activities.
2. What would a typical day look like?
The second week of camp begins with waking up around 6:00 am and the day starts off with early morning swimming. Meals are Breakfast 7:00 AM, Lunch 12:00 PM, and Dinner 6:00 PM. There are morning activities, crafts and morning session. Large group activities happen in the afternoon. The evening closes with a night session of worship and an evening game.
3. What criteria do you use to measure the effectiveness of a team serving with you?
Their willingness to jump in wherever needed as the camp runs. Their level of relationship development with the campers. Their respect for our local staff and volunteers.
4. What are some key lessons from your ministry and walk with the Lord that you want to impart to the mission teams to help them as they consider their own individual call to missions or vocational ministry?
To gain an appreciation for the life and sacrifice of missionary kids and kids growing up in homeschool communities while growing in their own understanding of cross-cultural living, teamwork, and fellowship with believers from various backgrounds.

We seek to please Christ, the Builder and Head of the Church, by conducting our ministries closely with local churches for the advancement and building up of the Body of Christ with the view that all believers will grow in maturity becoming more and more like Christ with the hope that some become pastors, evangelists, teachers, and others cross-cultural missionaries (Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 4:4-16).
