Use your time, compassion, and presence to build relationships, care for families, and share the hope of Jesus.

Through home visits, community outreach, prayer ministry, and relationship-based care, you’ll serve alongside local ministry leaders and step into the everyday lives of individuals and families in meaningful ways.

This trip is ideal for individuals, families, students, young adults, schools, church groups, and teams who want to serve people through simple acts of compassion and genuine relationship. You don’t need special skills or ministry experience. You simply need a willing heart, a listening ear, and a desire to love people well.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with local ministry leaders who already know and love their communities and understand the needs of the people they serve.
• Visit individuals and families in their homes to listen to their stories, build relationships, offer encouragement, and remind them they are seen and valued.
• Serve vulnerable community members through practical care and support, including medication assistance and encouragement for families facing difficult circumstances.
• Pray with and encourage individuals and families who may be navigating illness, poverty, food insecurity, unemployment, or other everyday challenges.
• Build meaningful connections through community outreach by sharing conversations, spending time with families, encouraging children and youth, and supporting local churches and ministries.

You’ll fly into Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and stay in a Christ For the City International guesthouse while experiencing ministry alongside local leaders and communities.

Many of the communities we serve are facing poverty, unemployment, food insecurity, illness, and limited access to resources. A home visit may seem simple, but sitting with someone, listening to their story, praying with them, or offering practical encouragement can remind them that they are not forgotten or alone.

You may sit with a family in their home, pray with someone facing illness, listen to a grandmother share her story, encourage an overwhelmed parent, help with medication assistance, or simply share a conversation over a cup of tea. These ordinary moments can become meaningful opportunities to demonstrate the compassion and love of Jesus.
