What the Mission Trip Will Be Like

Sun, sea, and a front-row seat to what everyday missionary life actually looks like. In La Paz, you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with career missionaries across a range of ministries using your own gifts while living the rhythms of a missionary’s daily life.

Expect to make real friends, share your faith in real conversations, and fall hard for the people (and the tacos) of Mexico. You’ll be challenged to seek God in the unexpected, backed by Bible study and mentoring that helps it all sink in. If missions has been on your mind, this is where you find out if it’s on your future.

Good fit if you’re: spiritually mature, flexible, humble, teachable, and not afraid to strike up a conversation with a stranger.

Relation of Opportunity to National Church and/or Long-term Goals

You’ll serve alongside career missionaries and local believers who are faithfully building relationships and sharing the Gospel in La Paz. Rather than creating a separate ministry experience, you’ll step into the everyday rhythms of ongoing work already happening in the community through conversations, discipleship, outreach, and life-on-life ministry. As you build relationships and serve shoulder-to-shoulder with those invested in the area for the long haul, you’ll get an authentic look at how God is working through His Church in Baja California Sur.

Training debriefing
Preparation begins before the trip through curriculum and coaching calls with your Short-Term Coordinator and Ministry Area Leader. You'll be equipped to engage thoughtfully with the culture, ministry opportunities, and spiritual growth challenges you'll encounter throughout the summer. While in Mexico, you'll continue learning through Bible study, intentional mentorship, team discussions, and hands-on ministry experience. At the end of the trip, you'll participate in a team debrief with your Ministry Area Leader, followed by a post-trip debrief with your Missions Coach to process what you've learned, reflect on how God has been at work, and discern what your next steps might be.

Mission Trip Offered By TEAM

Around the world, countless communities still have little or no opportunity to encounter the Gospel and the transforming love of Jesus. By walking closely with churches and caring for workers, TEAM helps establish and sustain missional churches and communities of faith that endure long after workers return home. Our ministries will remain wonderfully varied, reflecting the many gifts God has given His people and the unique needs of the communities we serve. Yet beneath that diversity can be a shared conviction: whatever form our ministry takes, we desire to see healthy, indigenous, missional churches fellowships of Jesus followers living the way of Christ, established where access to the Gospel is limited. We strive to mobilize disciples from anywhere to serve everywhere, focusing on the places where the most need exists. In over 135 years of ministry, strategies and needs have changed countless times, but one thing never will: Where Christ calls us, we will go.
