El Salvador Teaching English Mission Trip: ESL, Education & Evangelism

Use your English skills, encouragement, and willingness to serve to equip local churches, build relationships, and share the love of Jesus.

Through English classes, conversation groups, tutoring, and Bible-based lessons, you’ll serve alongside local churches and ministry leaders who are using ESL to reach their communities. You’ll help children, youth, and adults grow in confidence and communication skills while creating opportunities for discipleship, spiritual growth, and connection.

This trip is ideal for students, teachers, young adults, families, church groups, and individuals who want to use English as a tool for ministry and connection. You don’t have to be a professional teacher, have a teaching degree, or speak perfect Spanish. You simply need a willingness to encourage others, build relationships, and help students practice conversational English.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with local churches and ministry leaders who are using ESL to serve their communities and create opportunities for Gospel connection.

• Help students grow in confidence and opportunity through conversational English classes, tutoring, games, and interactive learning activities.

• Build relationships through education and mentorship by encouraging students, listening to their stories, and creating welcoming spaces where children, youth, and adults can learn and grow.

• Connect English ministry with the Gospel through Bible-based lessons, discussion groups, prayer, encouragement, and opportunities for discipleship and spiritual leadership.

• Experience ministry in El Salvador while serving alongside local CFCI leaders and churches committed to reaching their communities.

You’ll fly into San Salvador, El Salvador, and stay at a Christ For the City International location while experiencing ministry alongside local churches, leaders, and communities.

Learning English can create new opportunities for education, employment, communication, and connection. But this ministry is about more than vocabulary and grammar.

You may lead a conversation group, help a child with an English activity, play a language-learning game, share a Bible lesson, encourage a student who is struggling, or simply sit down and practice speaking together. Every lesson is an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen relationships, equip the local church, and point people toward the hope of Jesus.
