What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Our team has an experienced ethnomusicologist/ ethnodoxologist, a professor of ethnomusicology and worship, who has been the supervisor for multiple students finishing up their degrees in their pre-dissertation internship / research periods!
This opportunity is especially designed for people in a formal program of study. However, if you are not in one and still interested in coming, learning the local music and language, and learning about ways to reach out using music and the arts, we would be open to you coming as well.
*Fees for music lessons and language lessons would need to be factored into your budget, and the cost of a local instrument if learning one (specifics of instruments and of prices can be talked about if there is interest, since prices change every year).
Tourist visas are currently available for a maximum of 6-months per calendar year. Timings as to when you could come for this are very flexible. If more than 6 months is needed for your program/internship, we would recommend coming July-December, then travelling to a nearby country for a week, then coming back in January for another bit of time.
Consider staying longer in order to see a community changed and worshipping Jesus!
Most your time would be learning and practicing the local music and language, with opportunities to experience and participate in various worship times. It's exciting to see how God is opening doors for musicians and music students in this land, and we look forward to seeing how He might lead you in the future.
