What the Mission Trip Will Be Like
Chamen is a rural village ministry focused on literacy classes for children. In the village the students are struggling in English. Different ages and grades need to learn how to read and write. Short-term workers don’t need any special certificates. If you can speak English well and have a heart to teach, that’s enough!
We are looking for people who are willing to serve in the village with simple lifestyle. Women will live in homes with missionaries, and men will live with local people connected with the team. It is a safe place.
WEC in Gambia is a registered NGO. This provides us with a platform to minister among the majority Muslim population. Our visa platform presently focuses on education, both formal and non formal providing teachers and trainers in government and private institutions. We are also involved in various Youth ministries, Bible translation and medical work. We work in close partnership with the Evangelical Church of the Gambia in church planting among the four major people groups of the Gambia, the Madinkas, Fula's, Wolof and Jola.
